~Welcome Fall~
Two years ago, I didn't have time to make a fall wreath (nor did I have a beautiful black door). I went to the Dollarama and bought 2 leaf garlands and wrapped them around an old grapevine wreath. I slapped it on the front door and called it DONE! Last year, a fall wreath still wasn't right up at the top of my priority list. However, I took a narrow piece of burlap shrub wrap and made a bow...slapped it on the same wreath and put it on the "still white door". (pictured above)
Come on...someone tell me you've done the same thing. Please???
Enter September 2012...the front of our house has a beautifully painted door (and shutters too, btw). I knew I MUST do better. So I picked up these berry picks at Michaels.
(Please excuse the ripe banana)
I picked up a box of gourds from my favorite Home Hardware store,
and a mesh bag of pumpkins at Michaels.
It was as easy as using the glue gun to attach the berry picks,
gourds, and pumpkins.
I think this beautiful fall door was definitely worth the wait. Don't you?
Keepin it real,
Tanya ;)
Beautiful wreath and it does look stunning on the black door. I've been making quite a few wreaths lately, come take a look.

I always thought a black front door is so dramatic and wreaths/swags/garlands, etc. just pop against it. Wreath looks nice and full of autumn goodies. Great job. xo
ReplyDeleteI have gone the 'easy' route too Tanya. You made a beautiful wreath out of the old one and it was so easy! I like your black door. We hope to get a new door/entrance system next summer and I've been toying with painting it black but we also will have a victorian style screen door over it (that'll be new too) so should the screen door be painted a different colour like white? Pam
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty fall wreath. It looks so good against your black door...Christine
ReplyDeleteYour evolving fall wreath has reached Perfection, Tanya! It's full and rich and looks STUNNING on your new black door! I just may have to copy your creative design!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your fabulous Fall inspiration and creativity at Potpourri Friday!
ReplyDeleteI'm back for a second look! STUNNING!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful! I know exactly what you're talking about. I've been trying to decide about a color for our front door for 7 years. You've sure encouraged me to go black. Your wreath is so lush and beautiful. laurie
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I love your black door. I love painted doors period. We usually paint our door red, but I've been reading a lot of decorating magazines and blogs and black is THE color.
ReplyDeleteLove how your wreath looks as well as admire than you can put it together yourself. Me, I have to find them pre-made or put something simple on a stick wreath. You are an inspiration.

Oops, forgot to mention that I pinned your black door with your pretty fall wreath to my Doors Around the World board. A lovely fall addition to one of my addictions.
